Kari began her painting career in college by way of
a contest. The dorm rooms at Biola University, where she attended,
needed painting and to cut down on costs the school had a contest
for the best designed and painted room. Kari and her roommate, Cari,
won first place. The seed was planted and in 1996 Kari started Make
A Scene.
Since then Kari has had training in many aspects of
fine finishes and mural painting from top leaders in the industry.
Through the Stencil Artisans League, Inc., an international group
of decorative painters, she receives updates on new products and
techniques through conventions, classes, lectures, newsletters and
demonstrations.
One of Kari’s major inspirations in life
is Colossians 3:17, "And whatever you do in word or deed, do
all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to
God the Father."
